Holidaying

There are times when we know that all we really need is to get away, go on holiday, escape – the latter being a slightly odd word to use suggesting our daily lives are some sort of prison. I’d rather not feel I have to escape, but then again sometimes that is just the way it is. To go somewhere different and live a different life for a while is like spring cleaning your life, it’s a breath of fresh air when you’re stuck in a rut and it’s just something that is needed from time to time. I am a big advocate of the holiday, although I may not seem it with my work-a-holic ways. Holidaying is extremely good for us. Here are the main reasons I enjoy it:

1. You only need to think about what you want to do that day and what you want to eat/drink. Your needs become very basic and your way of living an almost primal method of simply attending to needs as they occur.

2. You don’t have to do anything.

3. Nobody knows who you are, other than the people you may be with.

4. You can allow yourself to just exist in this place and at this time, and just take it all in.

Even if it’s just going to someone else’s house in this country and not working for a week, I suggest you book your next holiday now.
