Actor/actresses, what’s in a name?

Apparently it’s p.c. to call all involved in being someone else for a profession an actor, same goes for comedians. Down with the actresses/comediennes and in with equality. I wonder, though, has anyone really thought about this? Why can’t we differentiate between men and women doing the same job, so long as they are treated equally. I don’t think making all women take the male title for the job they do is really a step towards equality, and if it’s about all having the same job title then we’re going to need to invent a new one. Under this ridiculous logic of woman takes man’s title so all are equal in their role, then really women should be called men should they not? You see the flaw in that…
